Make Your Own Electricity To Power Your House

January 30th, 2010

There is nothing more frustrating right now than the way the economy is going. It is not a surprise to you when I tell you that we are in an economy that really needs to save up a lot of money, but what is the best way to do that? Well for starters, you can make your own electricity. In this article I am going to be sharing with you the three most popular ways to generate your own electricity.

1-Solar Power Electricity

I am sure by now you have heard of something called solar power electricity. This works by using the sun’s rays to power your house. This might sound really cool at first, but there are a few problems. It cost a lot of money to install and maintain it and it can be very unattractive. Another down side is that you become very dependent on the sun, if the sun is not out you will not get electricity. That means that during the night when there is no sun you will not be able to generate electricity.

2-Wind Power Electricity

Just like the solar powered electricity, wind power has been around for a very long time. This has been around for a very long time, it was actually one of the first ways to generate electricity. You purchase a wind turbine and put it somewhere near your house. When the wind blows it will spin the turbine, when the turbine spins you will get electricity. Again, you become very dependent on the weather. If it is not windy you will not get electricity

3-Electricity Through Magnets

This is the newest invention and has started to slowly become the best. The magnetic power generator is the cheapest out of all of them and is not dependent on the weather at all. It simply uses the earths natural magnetic pull to generate a person’s home. The best part is the fact that you can put it anywhere, including under the sink.

Solar Power Electricity-Should You Use It To Save Money?

January 24th, 2010

If you have been looking at forms of alternative energy then you have no doubt heard about solar power electricity. But does it work as well as it is promised to or is it a total waste of time and money? By the time you are done reading this article you will know whether or not solar power electricity is right for you.

1-You will need to calculate the total cost

When looking into using solar power electricity to power your house, the first thing you will need to research is the total cost. I think once you realize how much it is actually going to cost, it is going to be an unpleasant surprise. After you add up everything that you will need, the price gets steep. You will need to purchase the solar panel itself, you will need to purchase all the supplies to maintain it, and unless you know what you are doing it will cost you a lot of money to install.

2-Check to make sure it works

So now that you know solar power is expensive, you need to know if it works. That is probably the most common question we get asked when it comes to solar power. Our answer to that question is yes, it does in fact work. It will save you some money, but the money you spend right off the bat is way more than you will be saving. The reason why it does not save you a whole lot of money is because it does not work when the sun is not there. If it is night time or a very cloudy day then you will not be able to use it to it’s max potential.

3-Know that you are very dependent on the environment

As we already stated above, you are going to be extremely dependent on the weather, but you will also be dependent on more than just the weather. If the air is polluted, that will get in the way of the suns rays and you will no longer be able to generate electricity. It is important to understand that with solar electricity, you will not be able to control when you will and when you will not be able to get electricity.

Wind Power Electricity-Will It Save You Money?

January 16th, 2010

If you have been looking into alternative forms of energy for any amount of time now, you have heard of wind power electricity. Because it has become so popular lately, we believe it is crucial that you understand what it is, how it works, and whether or not it is worth it.

1-Take a look at what the total cost is

Obviously, when looking into alternative forms of energy, you are doing so because you want to save a lot of money on your electricity bill. That is why we believe the very first thing you will need to take a look at in regards to wind power electricity is the total cost. Right away, the price might seem like a very good deal, but once you add everything up you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. The wind turbine itself will not cost you a whole lot of money. Once you look into the price of installation and the price of maintaining you will realize how much it will cost.

2-You need to make sure you understand the dangers

If you have been researching wind powered electricity for any period of time, I can guarantee you the companies have not told you about the dangers. As much as I hate to say this, when you wake up first thing in the morning you need to prepare yourself to see dead animals on your lawn such and birds and other animals that can get up to the blades. If you are someone who either is an animal lover or does not want to have to deal with cleaning up the mess, you may want to reconsider purchasing a wind turbine.

3-Know you are very dependent on the environment

If you do not know how wind power electricity works, it is simple. The wind blows which causes the blades to spin, the blades spin the generator which causes electricity. But the problem comes when you do not have any wind for the day. Do you have to go the whole day without electricity? Well, you aren’t stuck without electricity, but you will not be able to save any money on electricity because you will have to go back to the old way of doing it. If you live in an area that does not get much wind, then the wind turbine will not do much for you.
